People

James Davies BSc ACIPR

Managing Director

Following marketing apprenticeships at Reckitt & Colman and Unilever, James was Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Oxford Brookes University, at both degree and MBA level, teaching market research and communication.

In 1990 he founded the market intelligence company, Marketing Eye, which he sold to an integrated marketing agency Marketing Principles in 1994. In the same year he co-founded FFwd Precision Marketing, which was one of the leading integrated marketing companies in pioneering a research, insight, and data planning led approach. Over the next six years the company grew to a turnover of £8m and employed more than 100 people. It spawned a number of subsidiary companies including a research specialist, Decision Science.

At the end of 2000 the company was acquired by US group Hawkeye Communications. James remained as deputy chairman of Hawkeye Europe until 2002. The following three years was spent building a successful consultancy business before he joined IMPACT in November 2005.

Robert Walker BSc PhD MRSC CChem MISTC

Operations Director

Rob, who has a degree in Physical Chemistry and a PhD in mathematical modelling, was a Research Chemist with ICI Petrochemicals and Plastics Division before he joined a leading PR agency in 1983. He was an account director on various clients before moving full time into systems management and development of the IMPACT analysis service. As the technical 'architect' of the IMPACT consolidation and validation software, Rob is constantly working on enhancements.
